In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful,
Dear Esteemed Members, Partners, and Well-Wishers,
Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
It is with great humility and a profound sense of duty that I address you as the Chairman of the Muslim Education and Development Group (MEDG). As we strive to fulfill our mission and vision in Western Kenya, I am reminded of the words of Allah (SWT):
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you—when you were enemies, He brought your hearts together, and you became, by His favor, brothers.” (Quran 3:103)
This verse encapsulates the essence of our work—unity, compassion, and collective progress. At MEDG, we are committed to empowering individuals and communities through equitable access to quality education, sustainable development, and the promotion of Islamic values. Our vision is clear: a thriving, inclusive society in Western Kenya where every individual, regardless of age, gender, or socioeconomic status, can achieve their full potential.
Our Commitment to Holistic Growth
Education is the cornerstone of development, and in the spirit of the Quranic injunction:
“Allah will elevate those of you who are faithful, and ˹raise˺ those gifted with knowledge in rank.” (Quran 58:11)
We work tirelessly to ensure that marginalized groups—especially women, youth, and underserved communities—receive the tools they need to succeed. Through scholarships, vocational training, and ethical leadership programs, we nurture self-reliance and resilience.
Sustainable Development Rooted in Justice
Islam teaches us that true prosperity comes from balance, justice, and stewardship of resources. Allah (SWT) says:
“Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.” (Quran 2:60)
In alignment with this principle, our agricultural initiatives, healthcare programs, and economic empowerment projects are designed to create long-term, sustainable change while preserving the dignity of every individual.
A Call to Collective Action
None of our work would be possible without the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers, and the trust of the communities we serve. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“The believer’s shade on the Day of Judgment will be their charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
I urge you all to join us in this noble mission—whether through support, collaboration, or advocacy—so that together, we can build a future where no one is left behind.
Let us move forward with faith, determination, and unity, trusting in Allah’s promise:
“And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer—those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged, [even as much as] the speck on a date seed.” (Quran 4:124).
May Allah (SWT) bless our efforts, accept our sincerity, and grant us success in this world and the Hereafter.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan.
Wassalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Mukhtar Masheti Ibrahim
